Grading Cards & other collectibles
Grading is the process of evaluating the condition of a collectible—like a trading card, comic, or sticker—by a professional third-party service.
The item is inspected for things like centering, corners, edges, and surface quality, and then assigned a numeric score (typically on a 1–10 scale). The higher the grade, the more valuable and desirable the item becomes—especially for collectors and resellers.
For example, a card graded Gem Mint 10 by PSA, BGS, or CGC can sell for significantly more than an ungraded version. It’s also a way to authenticate the item and protect it in a tamper-proof case.

How and Where to Get Items Graded
1. Choose a grading company – Top choices include:
PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) – Popular for trading cards and stickers
BGS (Beckett Grading Services) – Known for their subgrades and black labels
CGC (Certified Guaranty Company) – Great for comics and also cards
PGS (Professional Grading Services) – For Funko Pops and sealed collectibles
2. Submit your item – You can submit directly through their websites or go through a trusted local card shop or grading event.
3. Wait for grading – Your item is inspected, graded, and encapsulated in a hard plastic case. Turnaround times can vary.
4. Get it back, ready to display or sell – Once graded, your item has added credibility, protection, and potentially value.
